Changes to COVID-19 Testing in Ontario

The province of Ontario has released a new plan - Protecting Ontarians Through Enhanced Testing. Ontario’s testing guidance now indicates that you should visit an assessment centre if you:

  • have at least one of the symptoms of COVID-19

  • do not have symptoms but are concerned you might have been exposed

  • do not have symptoms but think you are at risk through your employment (for example, if you are an essential or health care worker) or

  • would like to be tested

Testing is voluntary and free.  You do not need a referral for testing at an assessment centre and you are not required to bring your OHIP card.  Find out about Ottawa area assessment centres and remember this self-assessment form is a great tool.Stay informed through Ottawa Public Health and the Province of Ontario website.
