Ottawa Public Health Immunization

Ottawa Public Health (OPH) verifies the immunization records of all students attending school in Ottawa to ensure their immunizations are up-to-date according to Ontario’s Immunization Schedule. Updating OPH each time your child receives a vaccine helps protect the health of students during an outbreak, such as measles.

Every year starting in October, OPH sends a “Notice of Incomplete Immunization Record” to parents/guardians of children who are not up-to-date in their database. Please update OPH by the deadline indicated on your letter. If your record is not updated by the deadline, your child could receive an “Order of Suspension from School” letter. If you receive an Order of Suspension, contact OPH as soon as possible to update the record and cancel the suspension order.
