A Buck For The Bees!

child bee keeper with bee hive and bumble bee

A buck for the bees!

John Young was very fortunate to have the Eastern Ontario Beekeepers Association come in and share a fascinating presentation about the lives of bees, their important role in the world around us, and what beekeepers have learned about taking care of bees. Students were taught some interesting bee trivia and got to handle intriguing beekeeper tools such as beekeeping suits, honeycomb trays, and smokers that keep bees calm. John Young then received an honorary beekeeping box painted in the school's colours to display in our front garden (Don't worry, we don't plan on having any bee colonies on sight!).  Many students were interested in getting involved and sponsoring a live hive at a local beekeeper farm. We are collecting donations to do so! Would you please consider talking with your child about their presentation experience at school and if they would like to donate $1.00 to help this endeavor? Any donations are greatly appreciated!
