Lates and Absences

THANK YOU for all of your efforts in bringing your children to school on time and ready for learning this year.  We know that mornings can be a challenging and busy time at home and we appreciate all of your efforts. 

When you receive your child’s Communication of Learning/Report Card next week, please have a look at the lates/absences on page 1. As educators, we know that late arrivals and absences from school impact a child’s school experience in many ways.  If your child misses 19+ days (10% or more), there can be concerns about on-going school success.  Arriving on time ensures that your child doesn’t miss out on valuable instructional time and helps us to carry out our safe arrivals program accurately.  We look forward to working with families next year to support children in attending, and arriving on time as much as possible during the 187 days of learning we share between the beginning of September and the end of June.
