All students in Year 2 Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 recently completed the mid-year literacy screening assessments.  Similarly to the beginning of the year, students’ foundational reading skills were assessed to help us identify any child potentially at risk of later reading difficulties. These skills include phonemic awareness (being able to isolate sounds in words), identifying letter names, identifying letter sounds, as well as reading with accuracy and at a steady pace.
